Dr. Donald E. Getz DC

Dr. Donald E. Getz,DC of Dallas, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Allied Hospice, Wilkes-Barre. He was 90 years old at his passing.

Donald was born in Steelton, Pa, the son of the late Emmanuel and Mary Martin Getz. He was a graduate of Steeton-Highspire High School. He went on to attend Franklin and Marshall College and went on to receive his degree from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport Iowa.

Donald was a self-employed chiropractor. He operated his practice in the Back Mountain for over 60 years beginning in 1962 until his retirement in 2022. Briefly he had two office locations in both Shavertown and Kingston. He had served his country proudly with the Army Reserves during the Vietnam era. Some of his favorite activities included camping, fishing trips to Canada and any journey that involved driving. He was also an ardent football fan and often needed Rolaids to watch Penn State football games.

Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Emmanuel Getz, Jr. and a sister, Lucille Smith. Surviving is his wife, the former Diana Sigal of over 65 years. He has two sons, Michael Getz and his wife Lynn, Muncy and Jeff Getz and his wife Dana, Livingston, NJ. He cherished his three grandchildren, Larissa, Cierra, and Tyler Getz.

Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA.
