David W. Drasnin

David W. Drasnin, 88, Dallas, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025 at his home. Born in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Bertha Weidner Drasnin and was a graduate of Montgomery High School and West Virginia University class of 1958.

He was employed by Prudential Securities for many years, retiring in 1997 as Branch Manager. In his early years he was with Bache and Company. He had managed the Parkersburg, WV, South Bend, Indiana and Wilkes-Barre offices. Prior to Bache, David served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of Kiwanis, serving as president of the Wilkes-Barre chapter. He was also very involved with the Red Cross’ blood donation program.

David was preceded in death by his first wife Sharon Drasnin in 1989. Surviving is his wife the former Ethel Houck at home. Daughter, Deb Baloga and her husband John, Dallas. Sons, Steven Drasnin, Olympia, WA, Mark Drasnin and his wife Marjorie, Philadelphia, Scott Drasnin and his wife Jennifer, Newark, NJ, David Whipple, Falls, Wayne R. Whipple and his wife Laurie, Avoca. Dave and Ethel share 11 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa.
