Charles J. Ritts

Charles J. Ritts, 96, Harveys Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2026 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Joseph and Leonie Ritts and was a graduate of GAR High School and Newark College of Engineering with a degree in Metallurgy. Charles was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. He was a painting contractor for many years operating his own business until his retirement. He had served his country proudly in the Air Force during the Korean War. Charles spent 25 years as a volunteer Fireman with the East Hanover Fire Department, NJ. He was also a member of The American Legion Post #967, holding the office of Adjutant, an extended family for which he cherished each and everyone. Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife Joan and a sister, Joan Welch. Surviving are his daughters, Patricia DuBeau and her husband Edward, East Hanover, NJ and Kathleen Bardi, Harveys Lake. A son, Kenneth Ritts and his wife Jami Beth, Lake Hopatcong, NJ, along with 6 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. Friends may call from 9:00 AM until time of service.
