Carole Chapple

November 20, 1949 — October 10, 2017

Carole Chapple, 67, Shavertown, passed away, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in the presence of her loving family. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Degnon Dillon and was a graduate of West Side Central Catholic High School and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing. Carole was a member of St Therese's Church, Shavertown and also a member of The Shavertown United Methodist Church. She was an LPN with Nesbitt Hospital Kingston and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She retired from Intermed Physicians in 2013. Carole was a member of The Rotary Club of Dallas. Her favorite hobbies were reading, helping others, quilting, gardening, going to the beach and spending time with her 13 grandchildren. She was a constant presence at their athletic events, concerts or plays and was their biggest fan. She is survived by her husband Ken, with whom she celebrated 48 years of marriage. Daughter, Kimberly Bast and her husband David, Bethlehem. Sons, Christopher Chapple and his wife Brenda, Shavertown, Kevin J. Chapple and his wife Melanie, Cordova, MD., Ken Chapple and his wife Jessica, Newton, NJ. and 13 Grandchildren: DJ, Emma, Derek, Lauren, Brooke, Katie, Sara, Aidan, Juliana, Jack, Andrew, Hope and Lexi. Brothers John J. Dillon and Michael Dillon. Sisters, Margaret Dillon-Bowman, Maureen Soltis and Joan Dillon. Funeral will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at The Shavertown United Methodist Church with The Rev. Judy Walker, officiating. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 pm at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Those attending the Funeral on Saturday are to go directly to the church. Pioneer Ave, Shavertown, Pa. 18708.
