Betty Ashbridge

Betty R. Ashbridge, 91, Wilmington, DE., formerly of Shavertown, PA., passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Barclay Friends Skilled Nursing Facility in West Chester, Pa. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Smith Lewis and was a graduate of Meyers High School and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing.

Betty was a nurse with Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for 22 years and 26 years with The Luzerne Intermediate Unit #18. Betty had a special place in her heart for all the students she worked with and the teacher, her dear friend Marie Husty. Betty and her husband Ernie enjoyed many years conducting Estate sales and attending auctions.

She was a member of The Shavertown United Methodist Church. Wilkes-Barre Nurses Alumni Association, the Order of  The Eastern Star, #90, Wilkes-Barre, and the Back Mountain Library Antique Committee.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ashbridge in 2013 and Brother, John Lewis. Surviving is her daughter, Robin Carson and her husband Jeff Wilmington, DE and. Son Ernest Ashbridge, III and his wife Donna, Berwick. Pa., Grandchildren, Allen Carson, Amanda Carson, and Ernest Andrew Ashbridge and Great Grandchildren Owen and Liam Ashbridge. Sister-in-law, Eleanor Jane Gilbert Lewis and several dear nieces and nephews

Funeral service will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
