Barbara M. Drobnicki, 82, of Dallas, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Maple Ridge Rehabilitation Center. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Pecukonis Hudanick and attended Swoyersville schools.
Barbara was known for her witty, dry sense of humor and for having an opinion on just about any topic. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and crafting. She and her husband, Mike, spent much of their time tag-teaming woodworking projects to create gifts for family and friends. Michael truly was the love of her life. The two were inseparable. In fact, they shared the same birthday, September 24, exactly five years apart. They were married 47 years at the time of his passing in 2011.
Barbara was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake, the Women’s Auxiliary of the Daniel C. Roberts Fire Company, and the Band Parents Association of Lake-Lehman High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; sisters, Marion Savakinas, Helen Dennis, and Dolores Bubblo; and brothers, Michael and Bernard Hudanick.
Surviving are her daughters, Maria Carr and her husband, Leo, of Dallas; and Joan Cheponis and her husband, Ron (Chip), of Warrington; grandchildren, Andrea Carr, Luke Cheponis, Lindsey Cheponis, and Nicholas Carr.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Online condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com.
A lifelong animal lover, Barbara was an advocate for all four-legged friends. One of her final wishes was to donate her pacemaker to a canine patient in need of this lifesaving device. She donated to a variety of charities over her lifetime including St. Jude’s, DAV, St. Joseph’s, Weinberg Food Bank, and Boys Town. She would love nothing more than for others to donate to a charity of their choosing.
