Arthur "Jim" Spencer, Sr., 74, Dallas, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Wilkes Barre General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Shickshinny, son of the late David and Faye Violet Thomas Spencer. He attended Lake Lehman High School. Jim was a Lineman with UGI retiring in 1998. He and his wife owned and operated GJ Spencer Bus Co. Jim was a member of and the Commander of Daddow Isaacs American Legion post 672 Dallas. He was a member of the Harveys Lake Lions Club, Endless Mountain Coon Hunters, Former President of Jackson Twp. Democratic Club, Luzerne County Democratic Committeeman. Jim was a member of the Luzerne Huntsville United Methodist Charge. He was preceded in death by Brothers, Daniel, Harry, Bill, Chuck and David, Sisters, Doris Sorber, Anna McMichael, Shirley Spencer. Surviving is his wife the former Virginia "Ginger" Specht, the love of his life. Daughter, Dawn Swire and her husband Randy, Phoenixville, Pa., Son, Arthur J. "Jim" Spencer and his wife Pam, Dallas. 4 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews Funeral will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10 Am at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas with the Rev. Carol Coleman, pastor, Luzerne Huntsville United Methodist Charge, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Friday 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Luzerne Huntsville United Methodist Charge c/o 2355 Huntsville Road, Shavertown, Pa. 18708.
