Anita Pearce

July 17, 1949 — October 18, 2022

Anita (Blum) (Cuff) Pearce, 73, passed away unexpectedly on October 18th. Born and raised in Mahanoy City, Pa, she was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School (1967) and studied at Ashland Hospital School of Nursing.

After leaving Schuylkill County, Anita resided in several areas in western Pennsylvania, before settling in Dallas, Pa, in 1980 to raise her two young children and to be closer to extended family. She was a frequent volunteer at special events for Gate of Heaven Church.

Her career included numerous positions with medical offices throughout the Back Mountain area. Post retirement, she was a cherished crossing guard for the Dallas School District.

Anita was raised by her beloved maternal aunt and uncle, Mary and Ken Weeks, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Norman Pearce (deceased December 2021); her parent, John and Adele Blum, and her maternal uncle, Joseph Canfield.

She is survived by her son, William Cuff, his wife Corinne (Galli), daughter Erin (Cuff) Maslowski and granddaughter Jenna Maslowski, all of Dallas, Pa, as well as her maternal aunt Margaret "Peg" Canfield and family.
