Allan Cease

Allan J. Cease, 72, Dallas, passed away, Monday, April 23, 2018 at Wilkes-Bare General Hospital. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Brickenridge Cease and was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary as well as Lycoming College with a Bachelor’s degree in History. He was also a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary and Drew University school of Theology with a Doctorate of Ministry.

Allan was a United Methodist Minister with many United Methodist Churches in The Wyoming Valley including Slocum United Methodist Church, Bennett/Derr United Methodist Church, Carverton, Orange, and Mt. Zion United Methodist Churches. In later years, Allan became a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown.

He is survived by his wife the former Lynne Hess and Son, Christian Cease, both of Dallas.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at St. Therese’s Church, 64 Davis Street, Shavertown, with The Rev. James Paisley, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Greenwood Cemetery, Shavertown.  Friends may call from 1:00 until time of service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
