Leo W. Karasek, 82, Dallas, passed away, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Walter and Alice Cieslik Karasek and attended the Swoyersville schools.
Leo was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. He was a former member of The Maltby Volunteer Fire Company. Also the Teamsters Union #401. Leo was an avid fisherman who took his children on numerous fishing trips. He was also a big Polka fan and went to many dances around the area with his wife.
He was preceded in death by a son, Walter and brother, Edward and a sister, Ruth Tavella. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former Anastasia Salata. Daughters, Debbie Budzak and her husband John, Beaumont, Mary Lofing and her husband Mark, Shavertown, Tina Brown and her husband Les, Chase. Sons, Leonard Karasek and his wife Rose, Sweet Valley and Robert Karasek and his wife Cheryl, Wilkes-Barre. Brother, Stanley, West Wyoming. 12 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 10:30 Am at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas with The Rev. Daniel Toomey, officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Swoyersville. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
