Gary F. Royer, 66, Harveys Lake, passed away after a one year courageous battle with cancer, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Hospice of The Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Frederick and Ann Yudichak Royer and was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School.
Gary was a laborer with CertainTeed Corporation for 38 years until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. He was also a member of the UAW #365. He was an avid fisherman and would love spending much of his time fishing and engaging in other activities with his grandchildren. Though Gary loved Harveys Lake nothing compared to his love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his Brother, Robert Jones. Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years the former Linda Chacko, Daughter Christina Royer-Scheible and her husband Robert, Spring City, PA, Son Gary Royer Jr. and companion Sarah Miletta, Harveys Lake, Grandchildren Samuel Frederick Scheible and Lorelei Rita Scheible, Sister Mary Ann Allabaugh (husband Walter - deceased), Janice Dought and husband Larry, Karen Steckman and husband Johnny, and Pamela Hurysh and husband Joey, also many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of Memorial Service at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Memorial service will be held immediately after at 11:00 AM with The Rev. Daniel Toomey, pastor Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake, officiating. Gary’s family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of The Scared Heart for their wonderful care given to him and emotional support provided to the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary’s memory may be made to Hospice of The Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA 18510.
