Ida Marino

December 12, 1948 — April 22, 2023

Ida Marie Gillespie Marino, 74, Shavertown, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at The Meadows Manor. Born in Miami, FL, she was the daughter of the late Ida Marie Coates Morris and was a graduate of Dallas Senior High School class of 1966.

Ida is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Michael. In her remaining months with family and friends, she called him her angel. Now, she is our angel. She is also survived by daughters, Pamela Wintersteen and her husband Robert, Dallas, PA; Melanie Marino, Sterling VA; Valerie Horowitz and her husband Scott, Sterling, VA; Annette Marino and Kyle Osorio, Kunkletown, PA; grandchildren, Erika and Carolyne Wintersteen, Natalie, Lily, and Ellis Horowitz; and a very large extended family.

Ida was affiliated with TMG as a data entry processor until her retirement. Prior to TMG, she was employed by Nabisco in the payroll department for over 20 years, where her daughters enjoyed her perks of the company store. Ida’s favorite activities were watching old movies, Hallmark movies, making meatballs and piggies with her sister-in-law, baking with her daughters, going for car rides with her husband and reading/listening to audio books.

Ida's greatest love and biggest joy was her family, including her cats Socks and Sassy. She spent many years watching her daughters and grandchildren at their sporting events from the comfort of her car. She was also a loyal friend, proud mother, and even prouder grandmother. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.

The family would like to thank the Meadows Nursing Home and Meadows Manor staff for the care and comfort they provided to both Ida and Michael during her stay.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Meadows Manor Assisted Living, c/o 200 Lake Street, Dallas, Pa. 18612 or Blue Chip Animal Refuge c/o 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, Pa. 18612.
